TWICE AS NICE: Lucini Italia Strikes Gold with its Delicate Cucumber & Shallot Vinaigrette - Again!
Miami, FL (JULY 2010) – They’ve done it again. Lucini Italia’s Delicate Cucumber and Shallot Artisan Vinaigrette was named the Outstanding Salad Dressing of 2010 in the 38th annual sofi™ Awards from the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade, Inc. A graceful recipe, with locally grown garlic, parsley and milk, the vinaigrette is also the 2009 Gold sofi™ Award winner for best dressing/marinade.
The vinaigrette was nominated as a Silver Finalist by a panel of specialty food expert judges, ranging from celebrity chefs to established national magazine food editors and then was tasted and tested by industry peers at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City. Although it is not the first time a product has been awarded a Gold sofi™ Award in consecutive years, it certainly is rare. This year was the most competitive sofi™ contest to date in its 38 year history, with an astonishing 2,257 entries across 33 Awards categories.
Lucini® Delicate Cucumber and Shallot Artisan Vinaigrette is one of six gourmet blends, developed by culinary experts with a passion for delicious-tasting food made with honest ingredients. The unique flavor profiles from sweet to savory are Fig & Walnut Savory Balsamic, Cherry Balsamic & Rosemary, Roasted Hazelnut & Extra Virgin, Tuscan Balsamic & Extra Virgin, Bold Parmesan & Garlic and Delicate Cucumber & Shallot. Full bodied and bursting with all natural flavors, Lucini® artisanal dressings are specially produced to provide a versatile dressing that adheres well to greens, adds punch to sandwiches and brings new depth to meats and poultry when used as a marinade.
The vinaigrettes were introduced to the market in January 2009 and are available at stores nationwide, retailing for under six dollars. Inspired by the American lifestyle, these products are made in the USA based on the Tuscan philosophy that great food comes from simple ingredients of extraordinary quality and are well on the way to becoming a staple of the American pantry.
The sofi Awards (“sofi” stands for Specialty Outstanding Food Innovation) recognize the best in specialty food and beverages and are a coveted industry honor. The awards are open to members of the NASFT, a not-for-profit trade association established in 1952 to foster commerce and interest in the specialty food industry. Today there are more than 2,900 members in the U.S. and abroad. For further information on the NASFT and its sofi Awards, go to www.specialtyfood.com/sofi.
