Lucini Italia Corporate Headquarters Achieves LEED Silver Status

MIAMI, FL (August 23, 2011) – Lucini Italia is proud to announce LEED Silver for Commercial Interiors certification for its new Miami-based corporate headquarters. Located in the Four Seasons Office Tower, the 3,500 square foot Lucini office is the only LEED certified space in the 70-floor building.

Lucini implemented numerous sustainable practices during the office renovation, including construction waste recycling, using only low volatile organic compound paints, choosing sustainable coconut flooring and custom Italian cabinetry made using only recycled post consumer waste materials. The Lucini office operates on 100% Energy Star certified appliances, low-flow plumbing features and motion-sensitive lighting fixtures.

The office features a full kitchen, a lobby with coffee bar to entertain guests and a large conference room for web-based conferences and meetings. Employees enjoy a refreshing work environment with floor to ceiling views of Biscayne Bay.

“We want our headquarters to reflect our company philosophy which is ‘the best tasting food comes from the most-cared for ingredients,’” said Lucini President David Neuman. “Taking the extra steps to achieve LEED certification and knowing we are putting our best foot forward, in both the products we produce and the space we operate in, is well worth the effort.”

The LEED certification bolsters Lucini’s commitment to reducing its impact on the environment and further supports Lucini’s existing eco-conscious packaging and product distribution initiatives. The Lucini® EcoValue® Box, available in their three, award-winning extra virgin olive oils, weigh 50% less than glass bottles and is the most sustainable and environmentally friendly option for shipping liquids.  Released in the summer of 2010, Lucini’s line of gourmet sauces in heatable, BPA-free pouches use 70% less material than traditional glass jars and leads to significant transport efficiencies - one truckload of unfilled pouches equals 25 truckloads of unfilled glass jars.
Developed by the USGBC (US Green Building Council), LEED is an internationally recognized green building certification system, providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.

The Lucini Italia Company was founded by Renee Frigo and Daniel Graeff on the philosophy that great tasting food comes from only the most cared-for, high-quality ingredients. Prepared in small batches using 100% natural ingredients, Lucini Italia products offer both exceptional taste and culinary performance. Meeting the demands of both home and professional chefs, the Lucini Italia family of products includes award-winning extra virgin olive oils, artisan vinegars, gourmet tomato and cheese sauces, savory soups and a special collection of limited production organic items.
